World Renowned Archives International, in partnership with iCollector.com, are broadcasting their next feature auction on June 25th, 2015. Up for absentee and live bidding is a huge auction of over 1100 Lots. This auction includes the prestigious Family Archives of Rudolph P. Laubenheimer. The online catalog features a host of categories including original artwork, medals, medal & die sinker designs, printing and engraving proofs, security printing, and historically significant ephemera and Americana. The live auction is happening on Thursday June 25th beginning at 10:30 AM Eastern Time.
A pair of collectible items come up very early in the sale. Lot 22 is a set of embossed cameo business cards, mounted on a sample book page. And, this is circa 1860’s to 1870’s. The cards feature buildings, stoves, profile portraits, and various hardware establishments. The opening bid online is $1050. Moving ahead to Lot 30 is an embossed business card from A C Paquet, also circa 1860’s to 1870’s. Paquet is famous for the scarce reverse design on the Liberty head $20 gold as well as many US Mint medals. This card is a great value collectible with an opening bid of only $180.
Directly from the archives of Mr Laubenheimer, is a great collectible piece at Lot 192. With an opening bid of only $1400 this will attract attention. This is a sample book, with samples of printed and embossed seals, embossed letterheads, visiting cards, embossed labels, business cards and other work examples. This contains about 200 impressions in all with 47 pages.
Lot 1108 is an outstanding specimen bond for collectors from the San Francisco and North Pacific Railway Company, issued in 1889. This has a face value of $1000 with a green border and undertint. Locomotive #15 is depicted with a man standing next to it. The coupons are attached to the bond and is in XF condition. This is the second example offered in over 8 years and is an extremely rare and attractive bond. Bidding will be brisk on this item and it opens at a great value of $530.
