With such outstanding quality in this auction, the number of highlighted pieces is exceptional. An early stand out is at Lot 27. This piece is an Egyptian bronze figure of Osiris from the Late Period circa 664-525 BC. The facial features are extremely handsome, with hands folded across the chest, and holding a crook and flail. The figure is 3 3/5 inches in height and is mounted on a custom base. There are a selection of photos and detailed description available on iCollector.com and collectors can get in on the action with an opening bid of $4500.
One of the real highlights of the auction is listed in the online catalog at Lot 109C. This is a very impressive Graeco-Roman marble head of a satyr with attributes of Zeus-Ammon. Made circa 1st to 2nd Century AD, the head is wearing a mustache and a short beard, with hair in tight curls and a rams horn on either side of the head. The provenance on this is outstanding and this is truly a museum quality piece that the winning bidder will be proud to display. Bidding is opening at $20,000 and bidders are encouraged to get registered and ready and do their research. A full array of photos and a very detailed description can be found on iCollector.com.
