The most valuable artwork in the auction is at Lot 47, from Mark Kelso. This is “Chorus de Elementorum” and is 24 inches by 36 inches. In the artists words: “The Grand Canyon is an endless source of awe and inspiration for me that borders on what can only be called the sublime. The scale, the vastness of time, the complexity and beauty, are all reflections of the power and immensity of the incredible forces of nature. In this particular painting, I wanted to emphasize the four elements. My goal was to create an almost ethereal quality to the unfolding scene that would communicate to the viewer the spiritual experience of standing before the canyon as the forces of nature continue their work.” Selling to the highest bidder, this has pre sale value of over $10,000.
A stunning painting from Linda St Clair, opening at $3250, is selling at Lot 50. Linda St. Clair also has a painting entitled “Ruby”, which is of a cow, at Lot 74. The artist shares about the work: “As my collectors know, I love painting cows. This particular one is from a ranch in Kansas owned by a really good collector of mine. She had such a pretty face! Who wouldn’t be inspired?” Measuring 30 inches by 24 inches, this lot opens for $1750.
