The first in a great series of fall auctions comes to iCollector.com in partnership with Fontaine’s Auction Gallery, and will take place on September 13th 2014. This auction will feature over 350 lots of fabulous coin-op machines, musical items, antique advertising, vintage toys, country store items and banks, as well as arcade and gaming collectibles. This is truly a paradise for the collector, and live bidding will be available via iCollector.com powered by industry technology leader The Live Auction Group.
Fontaine’s auction, driven by auctioneer and CEO John Fontaine, has over 40 years of experience in the industry and is the oldest full service auction gallery in Western Massachusetts. They maintain a reputation of high integrity and professionalism to all their bidders and consignors; and offer interesting and diverse auctions throughout the year. This is the first of five important fall auctions from the auction gallery that will stretch into the end of 2014. All auctions will be broadcast for live and absentee bidding through iCollector.com where registration is simple and secure to all qualified bidders interested in buying some of the great material up for auction.
For collectors of vintage coin op machines, all eyes will be in the online catalog at Lot 115. This feature piece is a Princess Doraldina Fortune Teller Machine. This was made circa 1928 and displays a life sized gypsy woman in a large wood booth. The front is made of glass, and her head turns and hand moves over a series of cards. This fabulous entry in the auction should hammer in the 12,000 to 15,000 dollar range and bidding will be competitive. Bidders who cannot bid live online during the sale should leave their maximum bids on iCollector.com anytime leading up to the sale.
Potentially the top lot of the sale, is a popcorn wagon from Cretors & Co (Chicago). This has a driver’s seat, is a Model D, and measures an outstanding 12 foot 8 inches long by 9 foot 2 inches tall. There is a wonderful entrance door on the left side with a lift up serving window, and fancy gold and silver leaf handles. When looking at the wheels, viewers will see large spoked wheels with rubber tires. Showing in the online catalog at Lot 1, this opens the sale with an outstanding offering. The photos can be seen online and will demonstrate the pristine condition and true collector’s piece this has become.
Nearing the end of the auction, at Lot 347, is a lovely Jules Steiner (Paris) French bisque head bebe doll which is signed by the maker. It is in nice condition with beautiful fixed glass eyes and an articulated body. The doll stands 31 inches tall and will be an excellent addition to any collection.
There is a long list of incredible collectibles up for sale in this auction. Bidders are encouraged to view the entire auction online, at iCollector.com.
