New Years Day Auction of Firearms & Estate Coins

Dakota Plains Auctions kicks off their 2017 year of auctioneering with fantastic New Years Day auction with so many items to chose from. Over 300 items up for bidding including 150 modern guns and a selection of gold coins and silver dollars. There are also several collectible military pieces. All items are available to the highest bidder with great opening prices and bidding from around the world. The auction takes place on Sunday January 1st, 2017 with the opening lot coming to the auction block at 10AM Mountain Time.

Lot 1 kicks off the sale in great spirits with a Colt 1911 .45 cal pistol. This semi automatic has blued finish with walnut grips and manufactured in 1917. The right side slide is marked Model 1911 US Army, and the left is marked US Property. This piece includes the original US marked holster and belt, as well as 7 clips. This gun is in excellent mechanical condition and has a very strong bore. It is opening for bidding at $600 and absentee bidding has already picked up the pace. Lot 80 provides a great opportunity to add a Winchester to the collection. Presented for bidding is a Model 94AE 30-30 Deadwood Volunteer Fire Department Commemorative Rifle. The full description of this interesting collector’s piece is as follows:

Deadwood Volunteer Fire Department Commemorative, tang reads 2 of 21. Due to shortage of guns from Winchester only 8 of the 21 guns were able to be made so only 8 of the 21 exist. Metal surfaces gold plated, receiver highly engraved, forend and buttstock high grade walnut profusely carved stocks, forend left side depicts Poker Alice and 6 men in a poker game, left side receiver with image of Wild Bill, Potato Creek Johnny and Deadwood Main Street, buttstock scroll carved with image of Victorian lady and a stagecoach. Right side of rifle forend with Deadwood hose company, receiver with Calamity Jane and miners with sluice box, back of buttstock with Indian Joe and Colorado Charlie Utter. Gun is Minty, never been out of hard case except for photos. Includes velvet lined A&A logo hard case.

Bidding on Lot 80 begins and $1750 and this is worth a look from all Winchester collectors.

There are well over 100 Morgan Silver Dollars up for grabs in the auction. They come in a wide range of dates and grades, and estimated values are great for those on a budget. The Morgans run from Lots 200 to 317 and are up for easy browsing online with photos and all the details. Bidders can check out one of the highlighted examples at Lot 249. This is an 1885 O graded MS 65 with bidding opening at only $40. Serious collectors can look to pick up as many as they like and walk away with a tremendous value for their auction day.
