Lamp and glass auction sure to bring a sparkle to eyes of collectors

Be prepared to bid on some of the most gorgeous and unique glass and ceramic pieces in the world when James D. Julia Auctioneers, located in Fairfield, Maine, holds its two-day Extraordinary Lamp and Glass Auction Nov. 20 and 21.

Tiffany, Durand, Steuben, Webb and V. St. Lambert are just a few of the world-renowned artisanal companies whose goods will be on the block at the auction, which will be held simultaneously on iCollector.com. It's a stockpile of fine craftsmanship that lovers of exquisite glassblowing and handmade ceramics will have to see to believe.

Session one
Session one of this collectibles auction will begin at noon on Nov. 20, and it will primarily feature artistic glass pieces ranging from brilliantly-colored vases and bowls to chandeliers and hanging lamps that would complement most any indoor space.

Among the numerous antiques and collectibles available will be a Mt. Washington Royal Flemish vase decorated with a gold-enameled lion (lot #1001). The Mt. Washington Glass Company has been manufacturing some of the most beautiful products in its genre since the late 19th century, and now collectors and appreciators of glassblowing will have a remarkable opportunity to add this vase and other astounding examples of the company's work to their private stock.

Mt. Washington products are also perfect adornments in public spaces, such as hotels and restaurants. So business owners who are looking to transform their establishments into more attractive, welcoming places for customers and guests will definitely want to take a close look at all this auction has to offer.

Of course, Mt. Washington is far from the only craft company whose antiques and collectibles will be represented during session one of the November auction. An eye-catching peach blow goblet from Gunderson (lot #1014) and a double student lamp with an ornate cast bronze base and pink shades by Harvard (lot #1017B) are also also particularly appealing.

Session two
Ornate lamps will be the order of the day on Nov. 21 when session two kicks off at 10 a.m.. Several works from Tiffany's, including table lamps in the Peacock (lot #2295), Dragonfly (lot #2350) and Bamboo (lot #2406) styles, will be up for grabs. And they would make excellent additions to any stylish bedroom or study.

But those are just samplings of the many Tiffany's offerings that will make up the bulk of session two. And for those who can't make it to Maine, there will be no better way to lay hands on them than by logging on to iCollector.com, scanning the lots and placing bids through the online auction.
