Antiquities, Native and Western Collectibles, an Museum Quality Pieces on the Auction Block March 4th to 6th

Desert West Auction is presenting one of their best auctions of the year over 3 days of March 4th to 6th ,2016. Over 800 lots will be put up on the auction block to the highest bidder. This is an exceptional sale with a variety of estate items and collectibles. Desert West is pleased to be presenting items from Tim Weber’s Estate which includes many antiquities acquired during the time he spent with his wife and daughter in the Zian Province of China. There is an amazing selection of 1950’s Jewelry and Fetishes from the Manning Estate of Deming New Mexican. Also included in the auction are various Native American rugs, art, jewelry, kachinas, baskets, folk art, and Pueblo and Prehistoric items. Everything will be up for auction to a live crowd and online bidders from around the world.

Lot 1068 is one of the highlights of the first day of auctioneering. This is a beautiful Chinese Carved Wooden Gold Gilt Home Alter. It measures 11” by 19” and is embellished with beats throughout the piece. This is a great collector’s piece that may hammer for under $100. Later in this day is an outstanding Large Mexican Pottery Mask offered for bidding at Lot 1219. It is ready to hang in any display and measures 23” by 16”. This is another great value piece that makes a great piece of artwork for the home or office.

Some of the highlights of the Saturday session include a lovely Vintage Siamese Asian Bronze Dancer presented at Lot 2109. This beautiful figure is 26 inches high and 22 inches wide. There is a selection of 5 photos to view in the online catalog. Bidding is opening at only $250. An absolutely stunning traditional rug is up for grabs at Lot 2117. Up for auction is a 1920-1930 Native American Navajo traditional rug that is a traditional directional cross textile rug. It measures 96” by 60” and is in overall good condition for its age. There is a crisp color and no prevalent stains. There is understandable wear on this piece and there is a great selection of photos for inspection on iCollector.com. Bidding opens on this piece at only $350.

Sunday March 6th closes out the sale with a wide variety of pieces to chose from. One of the best prehistoric items in the sale is at Lot 3180. This is an Anasazi Pottery Pitcher which is exceptional for collectors of historic pottery. The pitcher measures 7.5” by 6.5” and appears to be made by two different cultures. The top is in negative and darker in color, whereas the bottom is lighter in color. This was acquired in accordance with State and Federal regulations and looks to sell for up to $500 to the highest bidder.
