Lot number 2 helps kick off the April 14th auction with a Colt .45 collectible handgun. Opening for bidding at only $375, the catalog describes this gem as follows:
“’MK IV Series 70 National Match’ Desirable single action semi-automatic target pistol chambered in .45 Auto, circa 1975. Features a polish blued finish, 5″ N.M. barrel, patridge front sight, Elliason adjustable rear window sight, adjustable wide serrated trigger, serrated hammer spur, thumb safety, beavertail grip safety, push button magazine release, factory 7 round magazine, steel frame with serrated front strap, serrated flat mainspring housing and two-piece checkered walnut grips w/ gold Colt medallions. Includes the original wood grain cardboard box with documents, tools and a spare magazine. Pistol exhibits approximately 99% of it’s original finish showing minimal handling marks and a small ding on the right side of the slide above “GOLD CUP”. Action is smooth, bore is excellent and wood grips are fine. Condition is NRA near new in box.”
For collectors of edged weapons, a rare sword is up for grabs at Lot 156. This rare Damascus Roman Short Sword is available with an opening bid of $1500 and is valued at up to $5000. It is made by Ray Ribar and features an 18kt gold filigree and six rubies inlaid into the handle. The blade is 15” long with a brass guard and a beautiful wooden sheath. A featured handgun in the April 15th session is going to garner a lot of attention. Lot 700 brings a Heckler & Koch HK through the auction podium. The full description is as follows:
“German made double action semi-automatic compact pistol chambered in 9mm Kurz, circa 1973. This model is named ‘4’ due to it’s ability to accept four different calibers with the corresponding conversion kits; .22 LR, .25 ACP, .32 ACP & .380 ACP. This model is also the first handgun HK produced. Imported by HK Inc. of Arlington, V.A. with import marks on the right side of the slide. Features a blued slide, 3.5″ barrel, fixed patridge front sight, dovetailed rear window sight, small serrated round hammer spur, thumb safety, loaded chamber indicator, serrated trigger, black finished aluminum frame, factory 7 round magazine with finger rest floorplate and one-piece checkered black plastic wrap-around grip with thumb rest & HK insignia on the right side. Includes a .22 LR conversion kit with manual & two magazines and a 7.65mm conversion kit with screw driver, cleaning tool & four magazines. The conversion kit boxes and barrels have matching serial numbers to the gun. Pistol exhibits approximately 94% of it’s original finish showing light edge wear on the slide, wear on the grip straps and some wear on the triggerguard. Action is smooth, bore is pristine and plastic grip is very good with blemishes. Condition is NRA very good++.”
