Van Eaton Galleries Presents “Popular Culture & Disneyland” At Auction May 9th 2020 – ONLINE BIDDING!

Van Eaton Galleries is proud to present, “Popular Culture and Disneyland,” an online only auction event on May 9th, 2020. This auction contains over 800 items, including unique movie posters and rare poster art, animation art, posters and props from “Star Wars”, artwork and memorabilia from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, rare “James Bond” posters, many fantastic “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea” items, movie posters signed by cast and crew members, rare conceptual artwork from non-Disney theme parks including Michael Jackson’s proposed Peter Pan Theme Park, and memorabilia from the earliest years of Disneyland’s Club 33.  The auction house hopes you join them for an exciting day of bidding and winning!  Registration is open online for pre bidding and the live auction will be online and kick off at 10 AM Pacific Time on Saturday May 9th, 2020.

Lot 164 is a fantastic 4” limited edition Nautilus model by eFX.  Pre sale estimates range from $3000 to $5000. This is fully described as:

“(eFX, 2009) A large 4′ limited edition Nautilus model by eFX. This beautifully crafted model was designed by Scott Brodeen, and features many intricate details based on the Nautilus from Walt Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The model is battery-operated and illuminates the wheelhouse and salon, both of which feature miniature furnished details. The model includes a removable skiff and comes with a display stand, and would be a wonderful addition to the collection of any Disney or Nautilus enthusiast. Measuring approximately 48″ long and 12″ tall, the model is in very fine condition with little wear to the stand from previous display.”

Van Eaton has a section from the Death Star up for grabs at Lot 185.  Bidding is red hot on this piece and it is described as follows:

“(Lucasfilm, 1977) An original prop section of the Death Star from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Created by Industrial Light & Magic, this prop was used as part of the Death Star’s surface in the climactic final scenes of the iconic film. Created out of hand-painted dense foam, the prop section measures 4″x4″ and 2″ tall and is good overall condition with some minor surface wear from use.”

Lot 727 is featured souvenir that is a figure of Jack, Sally, and Zero (Nightmare Before Christmas) in a Haunted Mansion Doom Buggy vehicle. These figures were offered at the “Nightmare Before Christmas Enchanted Evening,” a preview event for the Haunted Mansion Holiday. The figure is limited to only 500 pieces and measures 5.75″x7.25″ and 5″ deep. The condition is very good, with some minor scuffing to the vehicle and some small scratches to the paint on the base. The original box is included. This is a cool collectible opening for only $100!
