Desert West Auction Presents Native and Western Collectibles – January 4th, 2020

Desert West Auction is kicking off the New Year with over200 lots hitting the auction block on Saturday January 4th, 2020.  They are featuring Native American pottery, Hopi & Navajo kachinas, Navajo & Zuni sterling silver jewelry, folk art, original paintings & prints, local artists paintings, beadwork, & Southwestern design jewelry.

Lot 1006 is a visually stunning Mexican carved wood jaguar mask.  It is ready to hang and measures 9” by 6.5”.  The photo is worth a look in the online catalog and bidding opens at only $40 for this beautiful display piece.

One of the featured pottery pieces comes up for bidding at Lot 1146.  Bidders can get a Navajo pottery bowl by Susie Williams Crank that opens at auction for only $40.  It measures 3.5” by 5” and is signed on the bottom with highly burnished pine pitch pottery.  This was created at her home in Shonto, AZ and is entirely handmade.

Desert West always has beautiful kachina dolls in their auctions and Lot 1153 is another great offering.  This is a Native American Hopi Ahote yellow corn kachina measuring 11” in height , 5” in width, and 5.5” deep.  The doll is embellished with features, faux fur, and leather. Bidding starts at only $30.
