Annual Cabin Fever Auction of Western Art, Firearms, and Collectibles Ready to Kick off April 1st

This is not an April Fool’s day prank! United Country Shobe Auction is presenting their annual “Cabin Fever” event that is sure to please a worldwide audience of collectors. Over 300 lots are coming up on the auction block for live broadcast over the internet. This auction features Western art, firearms, books, coins, antiques and great collectibles. The auction kicks off from Lewistown, Montana at 10AM Mountain Time on Saturday April 1st, 2017

Lot 96 is a great highlight to pay attention to. This is a W.F Cody pistol bit. This is North & Judd, nickel mounted, and iron cast with Cody’s signature under the cylinder. This beautiful piece has several photos to view in the online catalog and opens with no reserve and sells to the highest bidder.

Artwork and bronzes make special appearances throughout the sale. At Lot 128 is a stunning Morning Star bronze from Jay Contway. It measures 11” wide and 12” high and is beautifully painted and crafted; ready to display. There is already significant interest on this piece. A pair of standout paintings show up a few lots later. At Lot 153 the auction offers an opportunity to get a C R Cheek original oil of a “Log Cabin on the Prairie”. This measures 16” by 20”. Lot 156 is another beautiful piece by C R Cheek. It is an original oil on board, entitled “Early Summer Work”. This one measures a bit more at 18” by 24”. Both paintings have several photos to look at and are great display pieces for the home, office, or vacation cabin.

A pair of fancy silver mounted spurs are up for grabs at Lot 178. These are from Rex Schnitger (1877 – 1947) and have 13/16” wide split heelbands. Each have two 6 pointed domed buttons, 3” spiked shanks with angled inlays, and 14 point rowels. The straps are scalloped dove-wing with Frank Schultz marked on it with 2 3/8” sterling conchos and buckles. These spurs are circa 1930’s and are in outstanding condition. They are estimated in value from $4500 to $6500.
