Lot 220 is the most sought after firearm in the first day of the auction. Presented here is an incredible Colt Single Action Army Revolver, .45 caliber with a 5 ½’ barrel, and factory engraved. It is blue and has a cased hardened finish, with raised carved ivory grips showing “War Eagle” on shield with medallions. The serial number is 347534. This stunning Colt remains in near mint condition is, in the opinion of the auctioneer, the best factory blue and case hardened Pre War single action offered on the auction market in the last five years. Bidding opens at $30,000 and this is valued as high as $120,000.
The top Winchester in the sale shows up on day number two at Lot 882. This is a beautiful Model 1895 Deluxe flat side lever action rifle with .30 US Caliber and serial number 1771. This rifle is in fine overall condition with a 28” round barrel. The barrel retains nearly all of its thinning blue finish with muzzle wear noted. The barrel features a Lyman front, folding, flat top sporting rear and receiver sights. The butt stock has a Winchester marked hard rubber cap on the pistol grip and ends with a smooth metal shotgun butt plate. A very interesting commemorative set is ready for bidding at Lot 1473 on the third day of the sale. Opening at $4,000 this is an important Colt Firearms Presentation 3 gun US Bi Centennial set, celebrating in 1976. These are set in a three drawer wood casing with a deluxe edition of the re printed book “Armsmear”. The set includes a Colt Pyton DA revolver with .357 Magnum caliber, a Colt SAA revolver with .45 caliber, and a Colt New Series Blackpowder 3rd model percussion Dragoon revolver. This amazing set is in great condition and a fully detailed description and beautiful photographs are online now.
