A Superb Two Day Auction of Native American Artwork and Collectibles on iCollector.com

Collectors from around the country are once again converging on iCollector.com to bid online in another great auction from RG Munn Auctions. They are having a two day American Indian Art Auction on August 7th and August 11th, 2014 in the beautiful city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. This great event will be broadcast live online from the Expo New Mexico Fairgrounds with streaming audio and video directly to bidders from around the United States as well as a host of international buyers.

Bidders can find a great selection of artwork and collectibles to enhance any collection from the casual to the most serious. The auction starts off at 7PM local time on August 7th, and within the first few minutes a great Hopi Kachina comes up at Lot 19. This 11 inches tall piece was carved and painted with cottonwood in the 1950s and had paint rubs. The piece has a presale estimate of 250 to 500 dollars and there are already some bids left via the iCollector.com website. The beautiful photos are essential to look at and can be viewed in the online catalog.

Every successful auction of Native Art will have some beautiful textiles placed throughout the sale. Navajo textiles are stunning in beauty, incredible in quality, and are great collectibles and hold their value. Later in the first day of the sale, there comes up one of these great pieces at Lot 188. This textile is 80 inches by 50 inches with a 1970s dust storm pattern design. The weaver of this fine artwork is Mamie Begay. Bidders can view the photos online as always, or wait for the live broadcast and enjoy the excitement of bidding live.

In the second day of the auction, on August 11th, bidders will find something special listed at Lot 451. There is an Apache Basketry Bowl that will stimulate the eyes with its artistic beauty. This was weaved in the 1920s with a stair step design. There are human and animal figures throughout the basket and there is only minor stitch loss. At 4 inches by 18 inches it will stand out in any collection. There has been a lot of interest in this basket and the bidding should take this basket over the 2000 dollar mark.

Bidders making the journey to New Mexico can preview the entire auction catalog in person. There will be preview times starting at Noon the day of the first session to view what is up for auction that evening of August 7th. Bidders looking at the August 11th catalog, can visit the auction on Friday and Saturday the 8th and 9th from 9am to 5pm, and on Sunday the 10th from 10am to 4pm. Interested collectors not making the trip down there should be bidding via iCollector.com. Bids can be left before the sale, or placed live as the action takes place. Internet bidding can be done from any mobile device such as smartphones or tablets, along with conventional desktop computers and laptops.
