More than 1800 lots of antiques and collectibles from casinos are being auctioned off over three days in early May by Victorian Casino Auctions in Las Vegas. The amazing assortment of lots includes antique barbershop chairs, slot machines, vending machines and other casino paraphernalia. All of the exciting items are listed on iCollector.com for collectors and enthusiasts to browse and bid on. Perfect for a man cave or game room, these eclectic collectibles are sure to add a unique accent to any collection.
Game machines
The rarest item to appear at this auction is a 1907 5 cent Victor Little Six tabletop gambling machine (lot #620). Made of cast iron and featuring an etched glass front, the piece is so rare that only two or three are known to exist in the world. It is comprised of a central spinning wheel divided into six areas, each named after a different country: America, Sweden, France, Germany, England and Ireland. If the machine lands on America then the player wins. Built without an automatic payout system, these machines were likely placed in bars where the winner would be given a free drink or cigar as a prize. Other interesting game machines included in this auction are a 1902 25 cent Mills Dewey Jackpot Upright Floor slot machine (lot #1338) and a 5 cent Pace MFG Royal Comet Club Bell slot machine (lot #621).
Antique barbershop chairs
Vintage barber chairs make great display furniture for the home. The chairs have a beautiful retro design and provide a comfortable place to sit and relax. Bidders have a large selection to choose from at this auction, including a Melchior Brothers design with round seat and back and comfy tufted cushions (lot #936). This chair is in great condition with nice oak flourishes on the handles and pinstriping on the porcelain base. The Koch oak chair has had its leather restored to bear the Harley-Davidson insignia and is accentuated by the copper flash trim and eagle carvings (lot #939).
Vending machines
The charm of antique vending machines is only benefited by their use as functional storage. For example, Coca-Cola vending machines are great for keeping sodas cold. There are a variety of sizes and styles of Coke vending machines including the smaller Vendo-59 – unique for its spin top (lot #957A) – and the larger single-door Victor cooler (lot #954).
