Helm’s Tribal & Native American Summer Spree Live on September 9th

Helm Auctions is presenting an incredible auction to wrap up the Summer and kick off the Fall season, With over 400 lots to with quality consignments available to the highest bidder. Helm’s 2017 Summer Spree catalog contains Native American artifacts such as Navajo weavings and Pueblo pottery, Pre-Columbian artifacts, and other pre-historic items such as arrowheads and other stone tools. They have featured a collection of stone artifacts from Illinois, Ohio and Texas. This catalog also includes Native American and Mexican jewelry from the 20th century. All items are complete online with photos and descriptions and accepting absentee pre-bids now until live auction day on Saturday, September 9th, 2017.

There are two great concho belts featured early in the auction catalog. Up at Lot 11 is a Revival 1st Phase Leather & S.S Concho Belt opening for $600. This was made circa 1930s and is from leather and sterling silver. The item is 48” long and the conchos are 3” by 3”. There are 10 conchos plus the buckle. Featured at Lot 19 is an E. Charley 39” Concho Belt. This is circa 1970s and opens for bidding at only $300. It is also made of sterling silver and leather, measuring 39” long. There are 21 conchos plus a 2” by 1.5” buckle. There is fine handstamping on each concho and buckle. Both belts are in good condition with photos showing in the online catalog

Highlighted at Lot 301 is a beautiful Plains Indian War Club from the 1870s. This is made of cloth, rawhide, glass, wood, and granite. It measures 25” long and is a true museum quality piece. The club was used from horseback and is an incredible artifact to add to a collection. It is estimated in value from $1000 to $2000, and there is a large array of photos for inspection in the online catalog.

An exceptional example of Navajo weavings is up for grabs at Lot 393. Opening at only $500, this is a Navajo Transitional Blanket with incredible beauty from the 1890’s. It is red and black with natural colors of tan, grey, and more. This is in very good condition for its age and the images are online to show what a great buy this is.
