Lot 1017 is a beautiful American Express Company Stock Certificate with Homer B Hawkins Signature. One of the stunning postcards of the auction is highlighted at Lot 1653. This postcard is an amazing Early Reno Bridge with full provenance. As detailed in the online catalog: “This blue tinted cyanatype postcard of the old (first) iron bridge over the Truckee River in Reno. The old wooden Riverside Hotel is on the other side of the bridge. Back says, “This is a bridge that I helped to put across the Truckey [sic] River. It spans 198 feet. Fabulous! Mislabeled ‘Truckee’ on front. There is one stain on right and a series of pin holes on upper right. (Prag collection) City: Reno State: Nevada Date: ID# 44040”. Even better, the auctioneer has set this beauty to open up for only $50.
