Celebrate Halloween with a horror movie prop auction

Halloween is quickly approaching, and what better way to get into the spirit of the season than at Fangoria's Annual Horror Movie Prop Auction in El Segundo, Calif.

Taking place Oct. 26, just five days before the night of frightfest, the auction will be also be held online at iCollector.com, giving patrons a chance to add the last-minute props their Halloween costumes need, or pick up that missing piece in their collection of Hollywood memorabilia.

They're creepy and they're kooky …
The Addams Family movie (from 1991), which was based on the classic 1960s sitcom of the same name, is the source of three of the lots that will be up for bid on the 26th. Three props that were made to resemble creepy creatures – two frogs (lots #1 and 3) and a lizard (#2) – are among the auction inventory's collection of movie memorabilia for sale.

Take a bite out of these items
Joss Whedon's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is one of the most popular sci-fi programs of all-time. And props from the show will be among the featured items at the Fangoria auction.

A prop head of a vampire that was decapitated by the title character (lot #8), a red robe worn by Gellar in the episode entitled "Help," from season seven (lot #9), and the aforementioned autographed photo (lot #10) round out the lineup.

Celebrate Halloween with Halloween … the movie
Classic horror villain Michael Myers is well-represented in this Hollywood prop auction, with two costumes worn by actors who portrayed him.

One comes from 1998's installment in the series, "Halloween: H2O" (lot #33), which had Jamie-Lee Curtis reprising her role from the original Halloween movie. The other is from the more recent incarnation, Rob Zombie's 2007 remake of the first movie, simply titled "Halloween" (lot #32).

Master of horror
Wes Craven, the master of modern horror movies, has written, directed and/or produced more works in the genre than any other contemporary filmmaker. The "Friday the 13th" series, "Scream" movies and "The Hills Have Eyes" are just a few examples of how Craven has been able to earn his reputation.

On the 26th, you will have the opportunity to bring home some keepsakes from Craven's long and distinguished career, including script and storyboards from the original "Scream" film that are signed by the man responsible for the horror/comedy classic coming into existence.

There is no better time to indulge in some horror movie props than Halloween, and no better place to do so than on iCollector.com.
