The incredible highlight of the first day is found at Lot 146. This is an 1862 Iconic Colt Police .36 calibre revolver. Valued at up to $50,000 this is a rare find for auction. There are photos in the online catalog and the full description is as follows:

This exact revolver is pictured on the cover of the “L.D. Nimschke Firearms Engraver” by R.L. Wilson and was formerly in the Norm Flayderman and Robert Petersen collections. The engraving is deluxe with superb scrolls, ribbons, arrows, and deep cut backgrounds. The metal surfaces are lightly polished and originally silvered. The grips are near fine with most of their original gold gilt. These are authentic 19th century original mission lady and child grips. Not to be outdone, the second day has another incredible Colt on the auction block. Valued at up to $70,000, collectors can bid on an 1851 US Martial Navy Cole revolver. The auctioneer has put up a vast array of photos online for inspection and they have carefully described the piece as:

Excellent grips with sharp cartouches. Crisp and sharp overall with all matching serial numbers. Very hardto improve upon as a strong 9 ½” on a 1-10 scale. Very few better in even the best collections. (Antique) Est.: $35,000-$70,000Colt 1851 Navy revolver .36 caliber percussion, martially marked in near mint condition, S/N 79154.
