Ward’s Auctions are back in August with another large sale of firearms available for sale to the highest bidder. 500 Lots will be up for grabs during a live auction coming from Edmonton, Alberta. This auction features a selection of antique, collectible and contemporary firearms. This also has a great number of lots with ammo, hunting supplies, archery tools, and various pieces for the outdoor enthusiast. For those in the local area, there is a full day of previewing available at their Edmonton location on Friday the 28th.

A really interesting antique revolver is available to pick up at Lot 88. This is an Enfield Mark II dated 1882, and is a .476 Calibre 6 Shot Revolver with 6” round bbl. The revolver has a blued finish that is starting to fade, and is an early top break double action revolver with walnut grips. There is an unusual arched front frame strap which allowed the cylinder to move forward when the barrel tipped down. There are several photos available in the online catalog along with a very detailed description of each feature of the revolver. This already has absentee bidding taking place and is guaranteed to sell.

Lot 100 sets up bidding for an interesting rifle. This is a Stephen Grant 67 St James St London .20 Ga side by side shotgun with 28” Damascus bbl, and is circa 1885. This gun started as a double rifle Best Fun, and in approximately 1950, it was converted to a .20 Ga shotgun, featuring a superb light brown Damascus finish. This firearm features back action locks with dolphin hammers and side safeties with a Jones style underlever. The action and all metal parts are engraved in fine English scroll, with a checkered pistol grip. This gun comes housed in a Stephen Grant trunk style travelling case, complete with a metal drawer for storing all the accessories. Several beautiful photos are available to inspect online before placing a bid.

Another great collectible firearm is highlighted at Lot 136. Here is a Spencer Civil War .52 Rimfire cal (56-56 cal) Lever Auction Saddle Ring Carbine rifle with 22”bbl. There are traces of fading blue finish turning brown, and also traces of flaking with good wood and a metal butt plate. It includes the cartridge tube trap, barrel sights, and was made circa 1863-1865. There is a saddle ring on the left side and a sling swivel at the butt. This is a historical rifle and a must have for Civil War collectors.
