Chinese Paintings, Ceramics, and Works of Art Up For Auction Until August 13th

888 Auctions is presenting a timed auction of over 520 lots of Chinese and fine Asian antiques and items of interest, all bids required to be in by August 13th. This outstanding sale is one of the best of the summer for collectors of Chinese material. This auction covers several categories such as paintings, textiles, snuff bottles, stone and nephrite, jadeite and jewelry, Chinese ceramics, currency, and a selection of wood art and furnishings.

At Lot 62 is a super example of Chinese artwork. This is a Chinese WC painting scroll signed by Xu Beihong (1895 – 1853). The scroll depicts songbirds perched on a tree branch, and is done in ink on paper. The artist has inscribed it with this seal, and entitled the art Liao Jingwen. This is a hanging scroll ready to display. The current pre-sale estimate for this outstanding piece of work is $6000 to $18000.

Lot 154 is a stunning carving to put on display at home or in a collection. This is a Chinese Fine Large Shoushan Stone Carved Boulder. It features delicate carvings of eighteen arhats in low relief with a light brown tone. There is a custom made rosewood stand and case included with the carving. This weights 1637 grams and is 14cm in height with a width of 5cm. Opening bidding is commencing at $13500 for this one of a kind display piece.

Chinese ceramics feature throughout the auction catalog. At Lot 338 is one of the best of the auction. This is a Chinese White Porcelain Vase with Two Ears. This shows a six character Qianlong mark on the base and is opening for auction at $4500. The vase has a flat oval body with the double ears on the sides. It is applied with white glaze and decorated with archaistic Chilong patterns in low relief. This is estimated in value at over $12000.

All pieces have an array of beautiful photos and full descriptions available for immediate viewing in the online catalog. Bidders are able to place their maxium bids up until 2PM Eastern Time on the 13th of August, 2015. These final bids will then be taken to the auction floor and placed in the live auction on behalf of each internet bidder. Winning bidders will be notified of their treasures shortly after the conclusion of the live auction.
