The Canadian Legacy Sale brings together one of Canada’s most prestigious numismatic companies, Canadian Coin and Currency, and one of the most successful Canadian Numismatic auctioneers of the last forty years, Mr. Charles Moore. This is truly an historic and exciting partnership sure to bring the best in numismatics to a worldwide network of collectors and dealers.

This auction will encompass three evenings at the Downtown Hilton in Toronto, Canada. Nearly 3000 lots will be available for live bidding via the internet and iCollector.com. Every segment of the Canadian market from paper money to coins and tokens will be there to satisfy even the most discerning of bidder tastes.

Mr. Charles Moore says about the sale: “The Canadian Legacy Auction sale is the most comprehensive auction held in Canada in over four decades. Over $4,000,000 of primarily Canadian rare coins, tokens and banknotes have been consigned, highlighted by the Robert Kril collection of major early Canadian error coinage and the Ronald Greene collection of Canadian banknotes. The one thousand banknote session of Dominion of Canada, Bank of Canada, and Chartered banknotes alone is expected to bring in excess of $2,000,000.”

Three incredible highlights show how historic this auction really is. They start with 1921 Fifty Cents piece which is ICCS graded Very Good-8. This is considered the King of Canadian coins and is listed under lot 1777 and an estimate of $50,000. Later in the sale, at lot 2286, there is a Dominion of Canada $4 note, 1990 issue. This carries the serial number 0000001 and has an estimate of $80,000. And the third highlight, to bring the last day of the sale to an exciting peak, is a British American Banknote Company “Foyer Display” that contains over 250 Canadian chartered Proofs and vignettes. This is cataloged at lot 2710A and has an exciting estimate of $100,000. Bidding will be aggressive and records shattered throughout this fantastic event.

“We are thrilled to be part of this historic partnership between Charles Moore and Canadian Coin and Currency. As part of our excitement, we are unveiling our mobile bidding technology to the worldwide bidder and look forward to an exceptional set of results. This is positioned to be a record setting sale in several categories. ” as said by Thorsten Bonn, CEO of iCollector.com and The Live Auction Group.
